The other day I discovered a simple but powerful technique for overcoming frustration, anger and many any other negative emotions.
Here’s what happened;
I’d been working for several hours at my computer and was having one of those days where nothing was working properly so I decided to go for a walk in the nearby park.

As I was walking, I suddenly realised that I was still thinking about my computer problems and I was totally ignoring the park around me.
Instead of enjoying my beautiful surroundings, I was caught up in my own little cloud of negative thought energy.
At that moment I asked myself a very important question:

Asking myself this question was like releasing a pressure valve.
Instead of continuing to analyse the problems I was having, I started thinking of things and people in my life that I was grateful for
As I started to feel grateful, the dark cloud of frustration that had been hanging over my head disappeared.
Since that day I have used this technique a number of times. Whenever I find myself feeling frustrated, annoyed or upset I ask, "What can I be grateful for right now?"
I can always think of something to be grateful for and as soon as I start to feel grateful, the negative emotions evaporate.
This Week’s Action Steps:
Next time you are feeling frustrated, angry or upset, ask yourself, "What can I be grateful for right now?" Focus your thoughts on being grateful for something or someone in your life and let the waves of gratitude wash away the cobwebs of negativity from your mind.
Until next time,
Dare To Dream!
Anthony
